They don't attack the smiter, and if they scattered, your smiter can be far enough away that they can't reach him.

Really? There is a huge group just right there. It's weird that's all you see. When you get across the bridge, if there are none, go down the slope and go around the frozen lake. Should be tons right across the bridge though.

Well...technically the 55/spirit bond build still works. You just need to pay more attention to your Spirit Bond button & the icon for the enchant (i.e. watch the duration and mash the button as soon as it ends).

actually using some of the info i have recieved from all the amazingly nice posts on this thread.. tookis elite and myself have found a nice duo smite build for the shield of absorbtion monk

The monk is the only part i know and its still really fresh but i will show yall what i got so far. of course this will need to be done with the spirit bonder pants and shoes.. both need to have a sup prot and a major or sup vigor. and also a divine headpeice with a sup divine in it.. the 15 al armor is what you will be using.. hp total is around 450

prot spirit
shield of absorbtion
spirit bond
blessed sig.
spellbreaker
blessed aura
essence bond
life attunement..

you will have high levels of prot and divine.. almost max for both.. those are the only two that really matter for this duo..

Im assuming the smiter brings the "standard" smiting stuff.. hopefully tookis will get on here and give yall some info on that..

but pretty much as some amazingly smart posters here said.. the damage negation has no effect on holy wrath and retribution damage..

we have been testing this and will probably not post pics untill we are 100% satisfied that you guys will like it.

some of the areas we hope to farm with this build could include

uw
fow 3 man (just add ranger)
Urgoz 3 or 4 man (just add ranger and ss)

i know this concept can be applied to a ton of nightfall areas aswell.. but that is assuming i ever get far enough into the game to explore them

Hope you guys enjoy this aswell and we will have picks and complete builds when we are completly satisfied with the outcome..

and i would like to thank you guys for all the awsome input on these forums and also ingame pm's they are all helping with these new builds and we should continue to support each other in our efforts to further improve farming.

koot n i were farmin earlier using the smitre build and the famine ranger in UW and i got more info

smiter + SoA monk :
-smites make things drop aggro (except casters, ranged) [but only till things die]
-smiter can be far enough away to not make them drop aggro off the smiter though
-smite goes through SoA even though ur hit for 0's
-this build can be done with a combination of spirit bond, SoA, and 600+ health [need low armor for thig though]
-more stuff too just cant think of it atm

SoA monk + famine ranger UW :
-works well, but sometimes only one smite will hit traps and ruin the whole thing
-big pulls as used to be possible with spirit bonder
-semi-slow on the attaxes but smites = fast killin

heres some screens of tonight (only got of UW smiting wasnt exciting enuff to post about)

that'd be a nice pull and total profits of tonight

Can I bother you for the location of the collector for the offhand? I'm really really psyched for this. I loved 55'ing not even for the farming, but just for the sheer fun of it. This, looks like even MORE fun XD. I greatly admire you. Will you autograph my heavily-tattooed monk?

Which isn't too dissimilar from this build. If one doesn't pay attention to SoA, that's all she wrote with alot of enemy casters.

Great build by the way.

smite monk :
vital blessing
balthazars spirit
retribution
holy wrath
blessed sig
SheildOJ/SignetOJ
*choice*
res sig/rebirth sig/rebirth/etc.

brgin a +4 prot hat and a +4 smite hat and switch em for casting diff req spells so u can get the 100% max of everything

have the tank bring essence bond so he grabs +2 energy per hit on himself.

and that is the 100% BASICS of the smiter

lol thanks but i think your monk like mine.. has endured enough punishment for one lifetime.. lol

but as for the collectors item.. its available outside for elona's reach in the dessert of the prophecies campaign.. i think its requires 5 topaz crests to trade..

not sure though.

Today I tried to do some solo Icy Dragon Sword farming with moderate success. What I did was one of my friends ran me from granite to mineral springs and then he left, so I start at mineral springs in a snap easily. then I usually fight my way through the avicara all the way to the imps in the cave. The only problem I had faced was maybe a few KD from the tundra giants, and for some very strange reason I could not break aggro from an avicara wise and ardent, they would keep following me and the wise would cast phantom pain on me which mending would reduce to 1 degen, and the ardent and wise together would just stand next to me until he had to cast phantom again....

either way, i managed 2 runs with on IDS drops before I gave up and returned to talus chute because of frustration and annoyance.
